Marina Rotella tied a career-high with six goals as Stetson defeated Wofford 18-7 Friday afternoon at Gibbs Stadium. Jacklyn Lavoie recorded her first career hat trick as the Hatters (1-4) led wire-to-wire en route to their first victory of the season. Lavoie's three goals came in a span of just 39 seconds during an 8-0 Hatter run to close the first half. She scored her first two goals just 12 seconds apart, the later coming immediately off a draw control. Her third goal came just 27 seconds later and sent Stetson into the half with a 12-3 lead. Quinn Roe and Rotella combined for three goals to start the second half as the Hatters build a 15-3 advantage. Wofford (2-7) finally broke Stetson's streak of 11 straight goals with a tally at the 17:21 mark, but by then the Hatters were firmly in control. Kiera McCarthy was stellar in goal, making 13 saves in 52 minutes of work. She made three big saves early in the game and then did not allow a Wofford goal over a 27-minute span. On the offensive end, Rotella scored six goals on 10 shots, marking just the sixth 6-goal game in school history. She now ranks fifth in the ASUN with 17 goals on the season. Quinn Roe and Camden Frissora added two goals apiece for the Hatters. Jessica Duggan and Jordyn Humphrey capped the scoring with their first career goals. Riley Reagan registered four assists.
