VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (2-8, 0-2 AE) defeated Siena (2-5, 0-2 MAAC) 13-11 on Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. "It's exciting to get a win," said head coach Kevin McKeown. "They have been hard to come by this season. I don't think we played a perfect game today, I would like to see us play a little cleaner in the future but I credit our guys. Our energy was great today and we showed some resilience especially in the second half. Overall I am proud of our team for getting a hard fought win." Binghamton saw goals from seven different Bearcats in the game including Jon Perotto who netted three for his first career hat trick while William Talbott-Shere, Joe Grossi, Sean Makar and Thomas McAndrew each added two. Brendan Patterson won 14-of-26 faceoffs and picked up six ground balls and freshman Thomas Galgano caused three turnovers. Kevin Carbone made 10 saves. Siena paced the contest, netting the first goal of the game at 13:05. Joe Grossi answered for Binghamton on a pass from Jon Perotto with 11:05 remaining to tie the score at one. The Saints scored again to take the lead back but Binghamton scored three straight on goals from Jon Perotto, Sean GIlroy and William Talbott-Shere. Binghamton scored three straight to start the second period of play. Stephen Petrelli scored at 13:52, Thomas McAndrew found the back of the net on a pass from Griffin Konen at 12:38 and Grossi assisted on Perotto's second of the day with 9:48 left in the first half. The Saints added one goal before the break to head into halftime with Binghamton leading 8-4. McAndrew scored 30 seconds in to the second half on a pass from Talbott-Shere to increase the Binghamton lead to 9-4. Siena then caught fire and scored three straight to come back within two of the Bearcats. Sean Makar answered, scoring back-to-back unassisted goals for Binghamton to reclaima 12-7 lead. The Saints scored one at the end of the third period trailing Binghamton 12-9.
