Freshman attackman Conor Foley (Walpole, Mass.) registered a career-high seven points (3g,4a) to lead the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team to a 16-15 victory at Siena on Saturday afternoon at Hickey Field in non-conference play. The River Hawks improve to 2-2 overall with the win, while Siena falls to 1-2 overall after the loss. Foley and Jake Lining (Rochester, Mich.) scored two goals in the final 2:26 to give the River Hawks a lead they would not relinquish. Foley added nine shots, six of which were on goal. Senior midfielder Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) also posted a solid game with three goals and four points. UMass Lowell trailed 7-4 at halftime against the Saints, but scored 12 goals in the second half to net the victory. Sophomore goalie Hunter Braun (Hartland, Mich.) stopped 11 saves for the River Hawks, while Siena's Anthony Tebbano totaled 15 stops in the losing effort. Sophomore face-off midfielder Liam McDonough (Groton, Mass.) won 15-of-23 face-offs in the victory for UMass Lowell. Siena scored the first two goals of the game, but Isaac Bot (Calgary, Alta.) scored two of his own, along with a tally from Cozzi to make it a 3-3 game with three minutes remaining in the opening stanza. Jack Kiernan registered a team-high six goals and seven points in the contest for Siena. The River Hawks return to action on Tuesday, February 25th against Massachusetts in a Kennedy Cup Challenge contest. Game time from Cushing Field Complex is 2 p.m.
