The Bard College men's lacrosse team lost to Clarkson University, 14-4, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.
The game was tight early, with Clarkson holding a 2-0 lead after the first quarter. But the Golden Knights scored eight unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead into halftime. Each team scored four goals in the second half.
Clarkson (7-4 overall, 2-2 Liberty League) got two goals and two assists from Pierce Currie (Webster, NY). Will Britton (Chagrin Falls, OH), Peter Herrick (East Greenbush, NY) and Evan Burgett (Golden, CO) added two goals apiece.
Bard (3-6, 0-4) got three goals and three ground balls from Peter Sojka, two assists and four ground balls from Jack Kaplan, and one goal and five ground balls from Corey Rich. Emanuel Grenier-Benoit caused a pair of turnovers and Lyle Healey made 20 saves.
