RELATED LINKS Box Score: Web | PDF COACH'S QUOTE "Huge credit to the team for their fight throughout today's game," head coach Sarah Dalton Graddock said. "I thought we ended the first half really strong, which put us in a great position. I love that we still have areas where we need to improve this week as we continue to focus on ourselves." HOW IT HAPPENED • The River Hawks' offense clicked early with a pair of goals in the first two minutes from Molly Shaw and Izzy Liquori. The Catamounts quickly countered with goals from Grace Giancola and Dani Paterno. • Liquori quickly netted one more goal before Vermont rattled off five unanswered goals in just over five minutes. UVM closed out the opening half with a 10-1 run in the final 15:25 for the 12-4 lead at the break. • Paterno opened the scoring for the Cats in the second half with a free position marker 1:33 into the frame. Maris Large converted on a pair of free position shots for Vermont and Liquori mixed in a goal for UML over the next 7:54. • Meghan O'Connor and Ava Vasile added goals for the Catamounts later on in the second half as Vermont took a 17-8 lead with seven minutes remaining in the contest.
