Marist men's lacrosse honored its seniors on the final game of the season on April 28th. Seniors Gannon Morrison, Kyle Quinn, David Meyer, Mitchell Standera, Liam Walsh, Brian Corrigan, Matt Galioto and Nick Nye were recognized prior to the start of the game. Quinnipiac came away with the win in a high scoring 17-14 game. Summary Quinnpiac's offense came out on fire, scoring with the first 30 seconds and tallying seven goals in the first quarter. Goals from Jake Weinman, Kyle Quinn, Jason Intermesoli and Joe Tierney helped keep the Red Foxes in the game in the first quarter. Two goals in the second quarter gave Quinnipiac its largest lead of the game a 9-4. But the Red Foxes did not give up and take advantage of man up situations to go on a 4-1 run to close the half. The Bobcats won the opening half face-off and scoring immediately to go up 11-8. The Red Foxes kept things close in the third quarter, with goals from Morrison and Weinman to get the team within one goal. With 2:21 left in the third, the Bobcats scored three unanswered goals to take command of the game. Marist tried to mount a comeback near the end with goals from Morrison and Intermesoli but ultimately could not come back from the deficit. Stats Morrison finished the day with two goals and three assists. Weinman had a team high five goals. Matthew Selts scooped up a team high five ground balls Nye was all over the place, picking up three ground balls, forcing a turnover and added an assist. Marist was able to utilize extra man opportunities, going 4-for-6. Quinnipiac's Brian Feldman and Jake Tomsik each had five goals each. Notes Weinman notched his first career assist. Walsh scored his first goal of the season. Morrison finishes his career ranking ninth in points (172) and assists (78). Tierney has scored a point in every game of his career for a 29 game streak. From the Coach "Really proud of those guys, a lot of teams could've just laid down with one game left but our senior did an awesome job." Said Head Coach Keegan Wilkinson. "Their legacy is much more than this year. Those guys over four years did such an incredible job of coming and committing to this place and putting it on the map."
