GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 17th-ranked Gators celebrated their 22-11 win over Brown with fireworks at Donald R. Dizney Stadium on Tuesday night. Lindsey Ronbeck led the way on the offensive front, scoring six goals on the night. That marked her eighth hat trick or better this season. Shannon Kavanagh followed with five goals of her own, tying her career-best, while Madi Hall added a career-high four goals against the Bears. On Kavanagh's second goal of the night, the sophomore hit the 100 career point mark, becoming just the 16th Gator to do so. She reached that milestone in 32 games, which makes her the third fastest Florida player to achieve that mark. Brianna Harris finished the game with seven points (2 goals and 5 assists). The five assists set a new single-game record for Florida and is a career-best mark for Harris. The Gators controlled the draw circle against Brown, winning 21-of-34 draws. Harris led the way with 10 draw controls, a career-best for her, as well as the fourth-best total in program history. Sabrina Cristodero and Shannon Kavanagh followed up with five and four draws, respectively. Florida's defense came up with eight caused turnovers on the night, including a season-best four from Cara Trombetta. The four caused turnovers by Trombetta put her at 87 for her career, tying her for the most in Florida's program history. How it Happened Brown hopped out to the early 1-0 lead, but Madi Hall evened it all up at one apiece on an assist from Brianna Harris. The Bears continued their strike, getting up 3-1 at the 24:36 mark, but the Gators went on a spurt of their own to take the 4-3 lead. Sydney Pirreca got the run started on a free-position goal, while Shannon Kavanagh tied the game at 3-3 on an unassisted drive to the cage. Florida took its first lead of the game at 4-3 thanks to a Lindsey Ronbeck free-position goal. The Bears went on a 2-0 run to regain the lead at 5-4, but the Gators strung together an 8-1 run to end the first half, taking a 12-6 lead into the locker room. During the run, Ronbeck scored four times – once on a free-position attempt and the other three on assists from Harris (2) and Hall. Hall also scored twice for Florida during the 8-1 run, while Kavanagh and Haus each added one apiece. Coming out of the half, Kavanagh scored back-to-back goals, extending Florida's lead to 14-6. Brown answered back, cutting the deficit to seven, but the Gators continued their offensive attack, going on a 5-2 stretch to take the 19-8 lead. Harris led the way on that run, scoring two goals, while Caroline Benitez, Haus and Ronbeck each added one. Brown cut the lead back down to nine goals with seven minutes remaining in the game, but Florida closed out the night with a 3-1 run to secure the 22-11 victory. Hall, Kavanagh and Eddy Shoop combined to score the final three games for the Gators. Lindsey Ronbeck currently sits at 198 career goals, trying to become just the third Gator to reach 200 goals Ronbeck has potential to be the second-fastest Gator to reach the 200-goal mark. Shannon Gilroy did it in 67 games, while Kitty Cullen did it in 78 games.
