Another double-digit save effort from senior goalkeeper Sydney Marks was not enough for the Yale women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field, as No. 23 Dartmouth kept itself in the running for a piece of the Ivy League Championship with a 17-4 win over the Bulldogs. Coming off a 17 save effort at No. 18 Princeton last Saturday, Marks was busy from the get-go Saturday, making seven saves in the first half as Dartmouth (10-3, 5-1 Ivy League) outshot Yale 21-5. The Big Green also had 10 free position attempts in the half -- Yale had none -- and Marks helped limit them to a 3-for-10 performance. With goals from junior attacker Addie Zinsner and senior attacker Maggie Pizzo, both assisted by senior midfielder Emily Granger, Yale went into halftime down 7-2. The Big Green put the game out of reach with a 5-0 run to start the second half, getting to running time before Granger snapped the run with her 21st goal of the year. Dartmouth outscored Yale 5-1 the rest of the way, with first-year midfielder Olivia Markert scoring off an assist by sophomore midfielder Vanessa Yu for Yale's final goal. Marks finished with 11 saves, adding eight ground balls. Junior attacker Izzy Nixon had a team-high four draw controls. Yale (7-7, 2-4 Ivy League) hosts No. 9 Penn in the season finale next Saturday. Dartmouth and Princeton have one league loss, while the Quakers are currently unbeaten -- they play at Princeton Wednesday before taking on the Bulldogs.
