Mercer fell in the front leg of its five-game home slate on Sunday at Five Star Stadium. The Bears (0-4) won the dropped their first home game of the season, 13-10, to Campbell. Despite the outcome, freshman Hailey Rhatigan scored a game-high five goals. HOW IT HAPPENED Mercer's Rhatigan scored her first goal of the afternoon within three minutes of action, despite the Camels notching the first goal. The Bears responded strongly, however, Eva Thorn (one goal), Kelly Hagerty (two goals) and Rhatigan (one goal) put Mercer ahead within the remaining five minutes of action. A Camel goal would end the first half with the Bears in the lead, 6-5. Mercer started the second half with Thorn netting her second goal on the day. Campbell sparked a 3-0 run to take the lead 8-7. Lily Morin locked in her first goal of the afternoon to tie the game up 8-8. The Camels generated five-straight goals to take the lead (13-9) for the remainder of the game. Rhatigan notched her final two goals within the final four-minutes of the game, despite the Bears falling 13-10. NOTABLES Mercer outshot Campbell 31 to 29, went 18-19 in clear attempts compared to the Camels 20-26, earned more ground balls (27), draw controls (14) and free position shots (14) than Campbell. Freshman, Hailey Rhatigan recorded a career-high five goals and six draw controls. Eva Thorn tallied a team-high two assists. The junior also collected two goals and two ground balls. Hannah Lind notched a team-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Iseabal Cryne recorded a game-high 10 saves, having faced 29 shots.
