Junior Jared Bernhardt and sophomore Logan Wisnauskas both tallied eight points each as No. 3 Maryland (9-2, 1-1) handled visiting Michigan (3-7, 0-2) 16-12 on senior day Saturday. Bernhardt and Wisnauskas both accounted for five goals and three assists apiece, while five other Terps found the net to power UMD to their first victory in Big Ten play this season. The duo both hit milestones in the game, as Wisnauskas became the 56th Terrapin all-time to record 100 career points, and the first Terp to record 50 or more points back-to-back as a freshman/sophomore. Bernhardt became just the third Terp since 2000 to tally a hat trick in five consecutive games, joining Joe Walters (2004) and Andrew Combs (2001). Danny Dolan made 14 saves in the cage to help anchor the Maryland defense, while Austin Hennningsen tied his career-high with 22 faceoff wins at the X. The two sides played an up tempo game in front of over 6,000 fans at Maryland Stadium, as the Wolverines pressed with a 10-man ride in the clearing game. Maryland took several long shots from its own end while clearing throughout the day, but couldn't capitalize on several first half opportunities. After the Wolverines got off to a 3-2 lead, an Anthony DeMaio strike with a minute to go in the first quarter would tie the game. Maryland would retake the lead in the second quarter, and held a 5-4 advantage heading into the final five minutes. The Terps would explode for five goals before the half, including four in the final two minutes of play, started by a Will Snider unassisted blast at the 4:42 mark. Wisnauskas and Bernhardt took it from there, scoring two goals each before the break to put their side ahead 10-4. Michigan would regain some momentum in the third, scoring five of the period's six goals to make it 11-9 at the start of the fourth quarter. A four-goal run in the first seven minutes would help create separation, capped by Matt Rahill's first career goal on a deep shot as the Terps finally managed to crack the Wolverine 10-man ride. Michigan would get as close as three, as Kyle Brickerd tallied his first career goal in the final seconds to put a bow on the victory. Maryland lacrosse honored its eight seniors in the class of 2019 in a pregame ceremony prior to the start of action. The Terps will return to the field Sunday, April 14 when the team faces Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J.
