In a showdown of what could potentially be a preview of a national title game, the Penn State Nittany Lions traveled to Philadelphia for a battle against their in-state rivals, the University of Pennsylvania. In a back and forth game that featured lead changes and tie scores throughout most of the contest, UPenn found itself trailing by two goals late in the fourth. After a late PSU penalty, the Quakers rallied for two goals to tie the game at 17-17. However, it was in OT when PSU senior standout Mac O'Keefe would deliver the game-winner, sending the Nittany Lions back to State College with an 18-17 win.
