Canadian National Team vs Univ. of Denver

Nov 7, 2016
In a match up pitting the defending world  lacrosse champions facing off against one of the top collegiate lacrosse programs in the USA, the Canadian National team took on the University of Denver in a fall ball scrimmage at the Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The Pioneers wasted little time, jumping out to an early 6-1 lead in the first quarter, paced by two goals by senior attack, Connor Cannizzaro. That would be the last time that the Pioneers would lead in the game as the Canadian National team came roaring back at the start of the second quarter, scoring nine straight goals of their own en route to a 15-13 win.  Denver graduate Wesley Berg led the way for the Canadians with three goals while Cannizzaro finished the day with four points lo lead the Pioneers. In goal, Denver goalie Alex Ready took the loss despite making ten saves while Cornell University goalie Brennan Donnville made six saves in the win for Canada.
