Played to honor the memory of Michael R Breschi, the "Thumbs Up" Lacrosse scrimmage was held at Calvert Hall in Maryland and featured the Ohio State Buckeyes taking on the defending NCAA champion University of North Carolina Tarheels. Michael Breschi, the son of UNC Head Lacrosse Coach Joe Breschi, tragically lost his life in 2004, while Breschi was the head coach of the Ohio State lacrosse team. Over the past several years, Breschi and current OSU head coach Nick Myers have come together each fall to host a youth clinic in Baltimore followed by the special game, highlighted at the beginning where both teams join together and give the "Thumbs Up" to help keep Michaels memory alive. The Michael R. Breschi Scholarship is also awarded each fall to a member of the Ohio State Lacrosse team, who "exemplifies the spirit of Michael."
