WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College pumped in nine second half goals en route to a 15-5 win over Juniata College in a men's lacrosse contest Sunday. The Wildcats improved to 1-0, while the Eagles fell to 0-1. How it happened: Both teams traded two goals each in the opening five minutes before James Thatcher broke a 2-2 deadlock with a goal with 6:13 on the clock to give Penn College a 3-2 lead. Thatcher netted his second early in the second quarter and later found Trevor Soli with 5:45 on the clock to give the Wildcats a 5-2 advantage. The Eagles scored back-to-back scores to get within one, 5-4, before Brendan Kuczma's made it 6-4 with an unassisted goal before halftime. After trading a goal each early in the third quarter to make it 7-5, Penn College exploded with eight unanswered goals the remainder of the game. Inside the box: James Thatcher led Penn College's offense with three goals and six assists and Sam Hills added two scores and three helpers. Dylan Klemas won 17 of 19 faceoffs and James Cella improved to 1-0 in goal with seven saves. Up next: The Wildcats return to action Wednesday, 3 p.m., hosting Shenandoah.
