Will My Lacrosse Head Fit On Any Lacrosse Shaft?

Jul 27, 2017
Will my lacrosse head fit   Most lacrosse heads have the same open throat configuration and design like the Nike CEO, Maverik Kinetik, and the East Coast Dyes Mirage. These lacrosse heads will fit on any type of lacrosse shaft. There are some new lacrosse heads, that are currently on the market, that contain different types of throat technology and these lacrosse heads will not fit on certain types of lacrosse shafts. These types of lacrosse heads will only fit on hollow lacrosse shafts.   [caption id="attachment_31341" align="aligncenter" width="600"]shafts On the left is a shaft that will not work with all heads because it is not hollow, like the one on the right.[/caption]   Here is a list of the newly released lacrosse heads that contain different types of throat designs and configurations.

The following lacrosse heads do not fit on certain lacrosse shafts:

STX Duel - One of the best face off lacrosse heads on the market and offers a revolutionary throat plug that allows the player to get closer to the ball.   STX Surgeon 700 - Designed for advancing high school and collegiate level play and offers built in handle support in the throat which reduces head rattle and allows you to move your top hand closer to the ball.   Warrior Evo 5 - A best selling offensive lacrosse head that offers Loc-Throat technology. As the screw inserts into the lacrosse shaft, the legs of the Loc-Throat spread, providing both internal and external pressure for a more secure fit.   Warrior Regulator Max - A very stiff defensive lacrosse head that offers Loc-Throat technology -  As the screw inserts into the lacrosse shaft, the legs of the Loc-Throat spread, providing both internal and external pressure for a more secure fit.   Warrior Regulator - An all around lacrosse head that offers Loc-Throat technology -  As the screw inserts into the lacrosse shaft, the legs of the Loc-Throat spread, providing both internal and external pressure for a more secure fit.   Warrior Warp - An evolution of its own - This lacrosse head offers Loc-Throat technology. As the screw inserts into the lacrosse shaft, the legs of the Loc-Throat spread, providing both internal and external pressure for a more secure fit.   Brine King 2 & Brine King 2 ST - These two heads were designed for the elite offensive minded defensemen and younger offensive players.  The lacrosse head offers Loc-Throat technology.  As the screws is tightened into the lacrosse shaft the legs of the Loc-Throat spread, providing both internal and external pressure for a more secure fit.   Warrior Burn 2 Max & Warrior Burn 2 - The Warrior Burn 2 Max lacrosse head is designed for the elite LSM who like to pay offense in transitional situations.  The Burn 2 is for outside shooting attack man or middies.  Both of these lacrosse head offer Loc-Throat technology.  As explained above, this provides a more secure fit.

Will not fit on the following lacrosse shafts:

East Coast Dyes Carbon Pro   EPOCH Dragonfly Series Gen 6 and above   EPOCH Integra Series One and Two   STX Stallion SC-Ti OCS w/throat lock   Under Armour C96 Lacrosse Shaft   Alpha A Series   True Driver Face Off Shaft System   Under Armour Meso Carbon Lacrosse Shaft   So, these are some of the most popular lacrosse heads in the game and they MUST go on a hollow lacrosse shaft.  The good news is that most lacrosse shafts are hollow inside, so finding one to fit these lacrosse heads is not hard.   Good lacrosse shaft choices for these lacrosse heads are the Maverik A1, Maverik Mission Blank, and the Nike Vandal.   MIXING MANUFACTURERS IS OK!   Many people say they have trouble mixing manufacturers and that the head is too tight or the shaft is too big.  That is not true!  They will all fit.  Take a towel, put it in the throat of the head, put the shaft in place and tap it on.  It will fit, trust us, we do it all day long.   Also, be sure to get your new lacrosse head strung by someone that knows what they are doing.  If you want it dialed up perfectly order Premiere Custom Stringing and you will be able to speak to one of our Pro's!  There are very few people out there that can actually string these heads the right way!   Here at Lax.com our custom stringers are trusted by the best in the game.
